Dutch engineering specialist, who are very popular here in New Zealand, Vetus, has unveiled a raft of new innovations at Boot Düsseldorf 2025, reaffirming its position as a global leader in onboard boat systems and propulsion technology.
From its well-established M-Line diesel engines to the precision BOW PRO thrusters, Vetus continues to balance practicality with cutting-edge design. But this year’s headline announcement focused squarely on the future: a new, higher-output E-Line electric propulsion system, extending the brand’s existing liquid-cooled range and pushing further into the market for quiet, low-maintenance, emissions-free boating.
The new model will join Vetus’s existing 6kW, 8kW, and 11kW systems, offering more power for larger or performance-oriented vessels while maintaining the same plug-and-play simplicity that has made the E-Line popular among OEMs and retrofitters alike.
Integration and innovation
Beyond propulsion, Vetus’s stand at Düsseldorf showcases a comprehensive approach to complete onboard systems. Its engineers have long championed integration—bringing together engines, thrusters, exhausts, and anchoring gear into single, compatible networks.
Through collaboration with YANMAR and its partner brands Maxwell, Flexofold, and Smartgyro, Vetus is enabling advanced system integration for both inboard and outboard setups. The company’s latest developments include joystick control solutions that combine engine and thruster management for precise, stress-free docking—a feature increasingly demanded by modern boaters and builders.

The announcement follows a milestone year for Vetus, which has recently moved into a new 9,500m² headquarters in Schiedam, the Netherlands. The state-of-the-art facility includes advanced testing laboratories, automated storage, and expanded production capacity—part of a long-term strategy to meet growing global demand for its products.
