Burling cleared to race SailGP Finals in Abu Dhabi

New Zealand’s SailGP campaign has received a timely boost with confirmation that Peter Burling is cleared to return to the Black Foils for the Abu Dhabi Grand Final. After being sidelined for medical assessment earlier in the week, Burling has now been approved to rejoin the team on the water.

SailGP has confirmed that Peter Burling will take a full part in today’s practice racing in Abu Dhabi after being cleared to return to the Black Foils. The team had been waiting on final approval, and the decision means they can carry on with their normal race build-up ahead of the weekend.

Burling’s return brings the full line-up back together as they prepare for a tight finish to the season. With the driver back on board, the Black Foils can focus on tuning their boat handling and sharpening their calls before racing starts in earnest.
