2026 Minneapolis Innovation Award winners announced at Discover Boating Minneapolis Boat Show

The National Marine Manufacturers Association and Boating Writers International have announced the winners of the 2026 Minneapolis Innovation Awards, recognising standout new consumer marine products that advance design, performance, and onboard experience across the boating sector.

The awards were presented during a new Breakfast Briefing and Awards Presentation at the Discover Boating Minneapolis Boat Show, held in partnership with Progressive Insurance. Now in their latest edition, the Minneapolis Innovation Awards celebrate manufacturers and suppliers who successfully bring meaningful innovation to market.

Six Innovation Awards were presented across four categories. These included one award in the aluminium and non fibreglass fishing boat category, one in fibreglass fishing boats, two in pontoon boats, and two in furnishings.

In the aluminium and non fibreglass fishing boat category, Princecraft received an Innovation Award for the Platinum 190. Judge Brady Kay praised the model’s bold silhouette and cut bow, which creates additional usable stern space and gives the 19 foot boat the feel of a much larger platform.

The fibreglass fishing boat award went to Vexus for the DVX23s. Judges highlighted its innovative livewell design, refined stern layout, and patented Petestep hull, noting the flagship model’s build quality and attention to detail.

The furnishings category saw two winners. Barletta Boats was recognised for its 2026 Lusso 25UA Seakeeper collaboration, introducing digitally controlled trim technology to the pontoon segment. Premier Marine was also honoured for its Command Anchor system, a digitally controlled Delta plough anchor that deploys and retracts cleanly into an integrated locker, removing a long standing pain point for pontoon owners.

In the pontoon category, Godfrey received an Innovation Award for the Sanpan, recognised for its power options, controls, comfort, electronics, and sound systems. Viaggio was also honoured for the Lago Z24B, with judges impressed by its detailed execution, including generous seating, electric grill, illuminated cup holders, and a fully functional galley designed for family boating.

The 2026 Innovation Awards were judged by a panel of experienced marine journalists and industry specialists, led by chair Brady Kay, alongside Robert Beringer and Bill Gius.
