VETUS introduces E LINE 22kW, its most powerful inboard electric propulsion motor

VETUS has expanded its electric propulsion portfolio with the launch of the E LINE 22kW, the most powerful motor in the company’s electric range to date. Delivering 22kW of output and 130Nm of torque, the new system offers strong, responsive acceleration and immediate deceleration for confident control on the water.

Designed for shaft driven vessels up to 15 metres or 20 tonnes, the E LINE 22kW provides a high performance, emission free alternative to a comparable 30hp combustion engine. It is suitable for both new builds and refit projects, fitting most existing engine foundations with a 1:1 direct electric drive.

The liquid cooled permanent magnet motor operates on 48VDC and reaches a maximum shaft speed of 1600 rpm in Power mode, with an ECO mode capped at 1200 rpm to optimise efficiency. Indicative energy consumption ranges from 4 to 8 kWh at 6 km per hour, supporting extended cruising on a single charge.

Advanced range management and Sailing Assist firmware maximise battery efficiency and ensure smooth, predictable operation. Active Electronic Braking, Battery Protection and Boosted Charge functions are integrated as standard, along with comprehensive control and warning indicators for propulsion status, temperature, battery level and system limits.

The E LINE 22kW propulsion set, code ELINE220S, is supplied as a complete, ready to install package. In addition to the motor, the set includes a V CAN monitoring panel, V CAN key switch panel, 48VDC to 12VDC converter, V CAN cabling and bus hub. Installation requires only the selection of a preferred control lever and cooling system.

Cooling options include fresh surface water cooling for clean freshwater environments, or a keel cooling system for use in salt or contaminated water.

With electric only boating zones expanding across Europe and beyond, the E LINE 22kW delivers powerful, low maintenance propulsion without emissions. As with all VETUS systems, it is backed by a three year warranty and supported by the company’s full range of integrated onboard solutions.
