Victron launches Venus OS 3.60 with new switch panel for affordable digital control

Written by

Victron Energy has released its Venus OS 3.60 firmware update, introducing a new switch panel designed to deliver a practical, low-cost monitoring and control solution for vessels and RVs.

The update supports the Victron IO Extender and other switching devices, offering an accessible entry point into aftermarket digital switching, particularly suited to smaller boats. A dedicated Electric Boat page has been added, reflecting growing demand for integrated electric propulsion monitoring.

Venus OS 3.60 features an intuitive user interface that allows users to monitor fuel levels, electrical loads, and control navigation and lighting systems from a central screen. Engine and navigational data including rpm, speed, and heading can be displayed in real time.

The system supports load switching, digital output relays, and three output modes: Momentary, Latching, and Dimmable. Devices can also be grouped within the interface for simplified management.

When paired with a Victron IO Extender, the firmware expands the input and output capacity of a GX device. Users gain access to additional relays, digital I/Os, and adjustable level outputs, providing greater flexibility across onboard systems. The platform can also integrate with compatible multifunction displays and tablets.

Designed to be DIY retrofit friendly, the system offers boat owners and installers a streamlined way to modernise onboard electrical control without major rewiring or complex upgrades.
