Super Sunday race window brought forward in Halifax

Written by

SailGP has adjusted the schedule for day two of the Canada Sail Grand Prix | Halifax in line with the latest weather forecast in order to deliver the strongest possible racing conditions for teams, spectators, and viewers.

We will aim to start racing at 5 am New Zealand time (6 p.m. UTC) on Monday, June 22, moving forward from the originally scheduled 7 am start time.

Adrenaline Lounge will now open at 12:30 pm Canada time, and will close at 5:00 pm, and VELA Beach Club will open at 1:00 pm and close at 5:00 pm with hospitality and guest programming adjusted accordingly.

All partners and hospitality guests will receive updated timing information directly from their dedicated SailGP contact.

The exclusion zone will be activated in line with the revised racing window – active between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m Canada time. Updated marine notices and operational schedules are being circulated separately.

Teams will once again race in a split-fleet format on Sunday. Group B will race first, followed by Group A. The top two finishing teams from each group will advance to the four-boat final.

With the revised schedule in place, we encourage fans to plan ahead and arrive early on Sunday. Join us from when gates open for fan activations and pre-race programming.

We thank fans, partners, and stakeholders for their understanding. These changes have been made to deliver the best racing conditions possible for the event.
