Custom Line’s new 35-metre displacement yacht hits the water in Ancona

Written by

Custom Line has launched the first hull of its new Navetta 35, the entry point into the Ferretti Group brand’s displacement range, at the group’s Superyacht Yard in Ancona on 28 May.

The 34.5 metre, 7.7 metre beam yacht sits under the 270 GT mark and is the smallest model in Custom Line’s displacement lineup, which also includes larger Navetta models further up the range. Notably, the yard had already sold three units before this first boat touched water, a reasonable indicator of appetite for the design ahead of any sea trials or boat show debut.

The launch ceremony drew the usual crowd for a handover of this scale: shipyard leadership, the owner’s representative, the captain, a surveyor, and staff from Custom Line and its subcontractors. Also on hand were the two names behind the yacht’s look, exterior designer Filippo Salvetti and Chiara Massarani, partner in charge at ACPV Architects, the Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel studio responsible for the interior architecture. Custom Line Atelier, the brand’s bespoke division, worked alongside Ferretti’s Strategic Product Committee and engineering department to develop the interior styling around this particular owner’s brief.

Spread across three decks, the Navetta 35 offers more than 300 square metres of combined indoor and outdoor living space, a generous ratio for a yacht of this length. Accommodation runs to 10 guests across five cabins, with the master suite on the main deck and four further cabins below, laid out to keep guest and crew movement separate.

One detail worth noting for those interested in the naval architecture side of things: the traditional aft staircase on the main deck has been reworked and shifted to the starboard side, partly concealed behind reflective surfaces to keep visual clutter down and free up the cockpit as the yacht’s main social space. Floor-to-ceiling glazing runs through much of the main and upper decks, pulling natural light through the interior and reinforcing the connection to the water outside.

ACPV Architects has developed three interior schemes for the model. The Light Mood, used on this first hull, runs through ivory, beige and caramel tones with white lacquered wood and tactile fabrics. A Contrast Chocolate Mood option leans on darker leather, bone-china lacquers and Grigio Alpi stone, while a Contrast Oyster Mood sits between the two, pairing pale timber with dark leather and tone-on-tone fabrics. Furniture throughout is custom-built and freestanding, raised clear of the floor in a style associated with Citterio’s design language on previous Ferretti Group projects.

The Navetta 35 joins Custom Line’s existing displacement range as its newest and smallest model under the 270 GT threshold, continuing the yard’s push into semi-custom builds developed in close collaboration with individual owners rather than off a fixed production template.

The Navetta 35 is confirmed to appear at both the Cannes Yachting Festival (8-13 September) and the Monaco Yacht Show (23-26 September), giving prospective buyers their first look at the model on the water.
