Carlo Borlenghi, 1956 – 2026

Among so many of the stars that shine in the world of sailing, Carlo Borlenghi’s was one of the brightest and the most radiant.

For more than four decades, Carlo was at the cutting edge of photography – capturing the drama and the pageantry of the world’s greatest regattas in a unique and compelling way. A professional to his fingertips, his artistry and intimate personal understanding of our sport set the gold standard.

His association with the America’s Cup is one of the achievements that set him apart. His work is deeply embedded in the history of the Cup, and will form an enduring record of some of the greatest moments in the history of our sport. He was a joy to work with and will forever remain part of our Alinghi family. We remember with pride and affection how he shared the life of our team, always discreet but always able to capture our emotions and the beauty of our sport.

We mourn his passing and will always remember his professionalism and friendship. Our thoughts today are with his wife, his family and his many friends. We hope they take immense pride in the giant footprints he has left in the history of sailing.

Rest in peace, Carlo.
