Marex’s planned 11,000m² production facility in Kaunas, Lithuania is scheduled to open in winter 2027. The project represents a €20 million investment and will expand the shipyard’s capabilities for larger vessels and more efficient production.

Key features include automated component delivery using vertical warehouses from Weland Solutions, renewable energy systems, including a 350kW solar installation and 222kW geothermal heat pump, a new 50-metre testing pool for larger models and a dedicated showroom for customers, dealers, partners, and media.

According to Saulius Pajárskas, General Manager of Marex Boats UAB, the facility will enable construction of larger three-deck vessels while improving testing, warehousing, and energy infrastructure. The expansion is expected to create up to 100 new jobs in the Kaunas region.

Marex Boats, founded in Norway in 1973, currently operates a 28,000m² production facility in Kaunas with more than 400 employees.
