Williams Jet Tenders has spent more than two decades building its reputation on precision engineering out of a workshop in rural Oxfordshire. Its new TurboJet MX range, unveiled this month, is the clearest signal yet that the brand intends to defend that reputation while chasing a wider audience.
The range comprises two models. The TurboJet 280MX measures 2.79m overall, runs a 60hp BRP Rotax Ace 903 engine and carries three adults plus one child to a top speed of 42mph (67kph). The larger TurboJet 320MX stretches to 3.19m, steps up to a 90hp version of the same engine, and lifts capacity to four adults and one child with a top speed of 45mph (72kph).
Since then the brand has built more than 12,000 units and grown into one of the more recognised names among superyacht and motor yacht owners fitting out their tender garages. The TurboJet MX is designed to keep that reputation intact while narrowing the price gap.

The launch comes at a difficult moment for the wider yacht market. Williams points to slower new-boat sales across the 40-70ft sector globally in recent years, a slowdown it attributes to sustained inflationary pressure. Commercial director Mathew Hornsby indicated the company designed the MX range as a direct response.
“We’ve listened carefully to the market and recognised an opportunity to deliver a tender that maintains the quality, performance and ownership experience customers expect from Williams, while opening the door to a broader audience,” Hornsby said.
Williams also points to the more than 5,000 of its tenders already in service in the 40-70ft yacht category worldwide, framing the MX as a natural replacement option for owners already familiar with the brand rather than a departure from it.
The TurboJet MX replaces the MiniJet 280 as Williams’ entry-level offering. Production of the MiniJet 280 ends in September, after which yacht fitment shifts to the new platform. The 280MX and 320MX are being taken to order now through Williams’ global dealer network.
