You are invited with your crew to participate in a fishing and boating weekend. The Western Bays of Lake Taupo produce some of the best fishing, boating and scenery, which together with good companionship will make for a good weekend.
Prizes
BEST CONDITION FACTOR
Overall, calculated by the accepted condition factor formula.
HEAVIEST TROUT
Overall, for the person weighing in the heaviest trout.
JUNIOR PRIZES
A range of prizes for the junior contestants.
MYSTERY PRIZES
A range of prizes will be awarded to contestants based on a range of extreme fish data.
Most trailer boats launch at Kinloch Marina on Friday or Saturday.
Stay on your boat or camp on the shore.
The Department of Conservation issues our fishing competition permit on condition
that we return accurate catch records and that our competitions are held at the
same time each year. We are required to record a variety of data for these returns.
This information will be collected as fish are weighed in. The resultant data is
sent to the Department of Conservation within 14 days.
Conditions of the competition
Fishing commences at 5am. Weigh-in promptly at 4pm.
Each contestant is invited to forward a donation of $50 with their entry form
to the Beachmasters prior to the competition.
- All contestants who have given a donation are eligible for prizes in all divisions.
Junior prizes are limited to junior contestants aged 16 and under. - Any one trout may win only one prize.
- Prizes will be presented around the campfire during the evening.
Rubbish:
If you can ship it in, then you can ship it out.
Bring rubbish bags and take your own rubbish home.
Firewood:
Bring a sack of firewood for the Saturday campfire.
