Honda Marine will run on-water demonstration sessions at five North Island boating venues between 21 October and 12 November, starting at Half Moon Bay Boat Ramp in Auckland.

From there the programme moves to Sulphur Point Boat Ramp in Tauranga on 29 October, then north to the Opua Cruising Club in Ōpua on 4 November and Parua Bay OBC, on the northern side of Whangārei Harbour, the following day. Napier Sailing Club hosts the last advertised session on 12 November. All five are midweek, running from 2pm to 6.30pm.

The sessions are aimed at owners thinking about a repower, people planning a new setup and anyone who wants a closer look at the range. Visitors will be able to get behind the controls, and Honda Marine staff will be on hand for questions. Book your place through Honda Marine.

A closer look at the range

Honda Marine’s New Zealand range runs from the 2.3hp BF2.3 portable to the 350hp BF350 V8. The updated inline-four BF115, BF135 and BF150 and V6 BF200, BF225 and BF250 models gain cruise control, automatic tilt and tilt support on drive-by-wire versions, features Honda already offered on the BF350.

New Honda outboards bought for recreational use from an authorised dealer carry a seven-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Commercial and government use is covered for three years or 1000 hours, whichever comes first.

Thinking about a repower?

Anyone going with a repower in mind should take their own boat’s details: make and model, current engine and horsepower, and photos of the transom and helm. Advertised outboard prices are engine RRPs, and a repower quote may also cover controls, gauges, steering and fitting, so an itemised installed price makes options easier to compare.
