Lowe Yachts

Lowe Yachts is a newcomer to the local yacht sales scene, offering a boutique service specialising in high quality new and pre-owned yachts and powerboats.

While Lowe Yachts is new, its principal Dominic Lowe has been around boats all his life, with over 25 years’ experience in yacht sales, service, yacht charter and associated activities, here in New Zealand and overseas. After a brief hiatus selling yachts, Lowe is back with a new venture.
Lowe Yachts will offer new and second-hand yachts, both power and sail, from some of the world’s best builders and most premium marques. With pre-owned vessels, Lowe is promising only personally qualified listings of boats for sale in New Zealand.
“I’m not in the business of offering boats listed offshore, unless I can personally vouch for them,” says Lowe.
The personal touch is a big part Lowe’s philosophy: getting to know his customers, putting in the effort to sell their boats, and aligning that effort with the value of the vessel are key aspects of Lowe Yachts’ business model. Presentation, both his own and the vessels he’s selling, professionalism and effort are pillars of the business, says Lowe. He provides high-quality still and video photography as part of the sales package and ensures that vessels are professionally dressed for sale and always well-presented ahead of any viewing. Word-of-mouth referral is key in this industry, he notes.

“Pre-owned boats will be marketed like new boats with the same amount of effort and attention to detail,” says Lowe,
“I take this job very seriously – it’s much more than just
a lifestyle for me.” Handover and after-sales service are also
top priority – Lowe stakes his reputation on them.
Lowe Yachts can also help people looking for a boat, where Lowe can act as a buyer’s agent, using his experience and understanding of the marine industry, in conjunction with his extensive boat sales network, to find the right vessel.
“Buyers can come to me with their ‘wish list’ and I’ll work alongside them and with other brokerages to find the right boat at the right price,” says Lowe.
When it comes to pre-owned vessels, Lowe Yachts intends to offer a strictly limited, highly selective group of listings, with each vessel cherry-picked to meet Lowe’s demanding brand quality, ownership, historical usage and price criteria.
“At Lowe Yachts, we will not be overloaded with listings, and we won’t list any old thing. I listen to my clients and I’m happy to devote as much of my time and effort as it takes to sell their boat, leveraging contacts built up over 25 years in the business to find the best fit for my customers.”

And it’s not just pre-owned vessels Lowe Yachts offers; Dominic also sells selected new boats through Carbon Yachts. Carbon Yachts is Australian Peter Hrones’ new venture (ex-Windcraft) featuring top-quality brands such as Saffier Yachts out of the Netherlands, AST carbon-fibre tenders from Germany, a range of models from Y-Yachts in Germany penned by Michael Schmidt of Hansa Yachts design fame and Virtue Power boats of Poland. Lowe Yachts will also represent Candela’s electric-powered recreational foiling powerboats in New Zealand.
