A game-changing partnership

At the heart of this project, which is currently under construction, lies a synergy of visionaries and experts. Skaw Sailing marine architects Benoit Marie and Clément Bercault brought their collective passion for fast, functional, and future-forward yachts to life through this ambitious project. SHORETEAM, celebrated for its meticulous craftsmanship, delivered a build that balances advanced performance with a sleek, lightweight form. Meanwhile, Sicomin’s pioneering bio-based epoxy resins provided the foundation for a sustainable yet robust structure.

“Our goal was to design a yacht that embodies both exceptional performance and environmental responsibility,” said Benoit Marie, founder of Skaw Sailing.

With his background in crafting disruptive concepts and a passion for offshore foiling, Marie’s expertise paired seamlessly with Clément Bercault’s flair for creating harmonious designs. A former project manager at Beneteau with four “Boat of the Year” awards under his belt, Bercault brought series-production compatibility and aesthetic refinement to the SKAW (A).

A Sustainable Revolution

What truly sets the SKAW (A) apart is its commitment to sustainability. Sicomin’s GreenPoxy® range, used throughout the yacht, offers industry-leading performance with a significantly lower environmental impact than conventional resins. These bio-based epoxies, including SR InfuGreen 171 for large component infusion and SR GreenPoxy 170 for secondary bonding, maintain exceptional strength and durability while promoting eco-responsibility.

“Our SR InfuGreen 171 and SR GreenPoxy 170 were an ideal fit for this ambitious project,” said Tom Kerriou of Sicomin. The lightweight 5000kg displacement achieved using these resins ensures the yacht’s advanced mechanical performance and foiling capabilities, setting new standards for sustainable yacht design.

A design like no other

The SKAW (A) challenges traditional yacht design with its scow-shaped hull and innovative C-foil system. The round scow hull maximises interior volume, providing the space of a 50ft monohull within a smaller footprint. The C-foils ensure a smooth and stable ride, combining the speed of a 60ft catamaran with simplified operation.

Safety remains paramount, thanks to the inclusion of a lifting keel. This feature prevents capsizing while allowing the yacht to navigate shallow waters, adding versatility to its list of impressive features.

Crafted for performance

The SKAW (A)’s lightweight construction showcases the exceptional skills of SHORETEAM’s builders. With a keen eye for detail and dedication to perfection, they created a yacht that embodies functionality, speed, and beauty. The seamless integration of performance-oriented technology with cutting-edge materials ensures a vessel that can meet the demands of even the most adventurous sailors.

Pioneering a new era in cruising yachts

The SKAW (A) is more than just a yacht; it’s a bold statement about the future of sailing. By harmonising eco-friendly materials, advanced design, and unparalleled craftsmanship, it challenges conventions and sets a new benchmark for what cruising yachts can achieve.

As the world increasingly turns to sustainable solutions, the SKAW (A) exemplifies how innovation and environmental responsibility can work hand in hand. With its groundbreaking design and unwavering commitment to quality, this remarkable vessel paves the way for the yachts of tomorrow.

Setting sail towards sustainability

The SKAW (A) is rather revolutionary. This foiling scow proves that high performance and eco-consciousness can coexist, inspiring a brighter, greener future for the world of sailing.
