Flying on water: Lift Foils redefines eFoiling with the LIFT5 and LIFTX

For those who love the thrill of being on the water, there is nothing quite like the sensation of foiling. It is surfing, but with a futuristic twist—gliding effortlessly above the surface, feeling weightless, agile, and free. Lift Foils has been at the forefront of this revolution, and with their newest models, the LIFT5 and the LIFTX, they have taken the eFoil experience to a whole new level.

Since the first eFoil prototype hit the water, riders have been captivated by the ability to surf anywhere, regardless of wind or waves. Unlike traditional surfboards, electric surfboards, or even gas-powered boards, an eFoil lifts the rider above the surface, reducing drag and delivering an unparalleled sense of freedom. Lift Foils, founded by engineer and avid surfer Nick Leason, pioneered this technology by applying advancements from smartphones, drones, and electric vehicles to create a board that defies traditional surfing limitations.

The LIFT5 is the result of years of refinement. It represents a complete reimagining of eFoil technology, built from the ground up to enhance performance, user experience, and reliability. Every aspect of the board has been improved, from the lighter, more streamlined design to the double concave bottom that ensures smoother touchdowns and sharper turns. Lift has also introduced a tool-less assembly system, making setup more intuitive than ever. With the Lift Connect System, riders can attach wings, mast, and propulsion effortlessly, reducing downtime and increasing time on the water. The LIFT5 is also the quietest eFoil to date, a remarkable feat for an already silent ride. In addition to performance enhancements, safety has been taken to the next level with a new double-walled battery featuring real-time monitoring, tilt detection, and water ingress prevention, ensuring maximum reliability in all conditions.

For riders looking for an even more dynamic experience, the LiftX pushes the boundaries of what is possible with an eFoil. Designed for those who crave adventure, it merges the agility of a surf foil with the power of an eFoil, creating a true hybrid riding experience. Unlike any other eFoil, the LiftX allows for seamless transitions between powered riding and surf foiling. It is the ultimate tool for progression, allowing riders to explore new styles and techniques on the water. The ultralight construction ensures unmatched agility, and the board itself was designed in collaboration with legendary shaper Sean Ordoñez, giving it a surf-inspired aesthetic that feels as good as it looks.

Nick Leason, co-founder and CEO of Lift Foils, describes these latest innovations as the culmination of years of engineering, testing, and riding. The LIFT5 introduces game-changing features such as a click-in battery, toolless and wireless assembly, and touch-free, integrated in-line cooling—an evolution of the liquid cooling system first introduced in the LIFT4. Meanwhile, the LiftX is built for those who want to push boundaries and explore new ways to ride, combining power with wave-riding capability in a way that has never been done before.

With over 15 years at the forefront of foiling innovation, Lift Foils continues to set new standards in water sports. From launching the first commercial eFoil prototype to introducing Quiet Ride Technology with the LIFT4, the company has consistently been ahead of the curve. The LIFT5 and LiftX are no exception, representing the next evolution of eFoiling. Whether riders are seeking the ultimate in smooth, effortless gliding or an adventure-driven hybrid experience, Lift Foils has once again proven why they remain the leader in the sport.
