Power Equipment set to showcase Smartgyro at the 2025 Auckland Boat Show

With over 35 years of experience supporting New Zealand’s marine industry, Power Equipment has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions across marine, industrial, power generation, pumping, and construction applications. As the exclusive authorised distributor of Yanmar and John Deere Marine and Industrial diesel engines in New Zealand, Australia, and the South Pacific, the company continues to introduce world-class innovations to the region.

The Power Equipment team will be located at Stand 126 on the VEC Ground Floor.

At the 2025 Auckland Boat Show, Power Equipment will officially launch Smartgyro into the New Zealand market, giving visitors the opportunity to engage with the team and explore the latest advancements in marine stabilisation technology. Smartgyro, a pioneer in gyro stabilisation, is designed to reduce roll motion, significantly enhancing onboard comfort and safety. These systems are ideal for both new builds and refits, catering to recreational powerboats and light-duty commercial vessels. A key advantage is Smartgyro’s onboard serviceability, which eliminates the need for vessel lift-outs, reducing maintenance costs and downtime. Power Equipment will showcase the Smartgyro SG80, the preferred stabiliser for boats ranging from 60 to 70 feet.

Last year, Yanmar Marine received two prestigious DAME Design Awards for the E-Sail Drive Series, which has already gained international recognition. This cutting-edge technology is designed to minimise emissions, maximise energy efficiency, and provide smooth, silent operation. Featuring a plug-and-play platform for easy installation, the Yanmar Electric Sail Drive maintains the brand’s renowned durability, reliability, and precision engineering—essential qualities for the demanding offshore and land-based environments of the South Pacific.

Adding to the lineup, Power Equipment will also showcase the GORI Hybrid Propeller, the first folding propeller that seamlessly switches between sailing performance and regeneration modes. This groundbreaking design offers exceptional flexibility, allowing sailors to optimise both speed and sustainability. Specifically engineered for electric and hybrid propulsion systems, the GORI Hybrid Propeller enhances the sailing experience by delivering efficiency without compromising performance.
