Featherston fires the season start
The Kiwispan Jet Sprint Track in Featherston launches the championship on Sunday 7 December 2025. Founded in 2000, the track sits inside the Tauherenikau Racecourse, half an hour south of Masterton. Recent upgrades have boosted its appeal, with elevated viewing on three sides creating an amphitheatre that draws families and dedicated fans alike. Known as a true driver’s track, it challenges teams with narrow channels and blistering straights that demand pinpoint accuracy.
Wanganui’s Shelter View double
The championship heads next to Shelter View Jet Sprint Track in Whanganui, hosting two rounds: Saturday 27 December 2025 and Sunday 1 March 2026. Built in 2004 on farmland at Upokongaro, just north of the city, Shelter View has earned a reputation as one of New Zealand’s premier venues. Its natural amphitheatre ensures that fans don’t miss a moment, while the pine trees that gave the track its name provide shelter from the elements. Shelter View is also one of the few jetsprint tracks equipped with lights for night racing, bringing a unique challenge and spectacle.
South Island showcase in Wānaka
Round three takes the championship south to the NOVUS Glass Wānaka Aquatrack on Saturday 17 January 2026. As the only jetsprint round in the South Island, it’s a highlight for fans and teams alike. Located just ten minutes from the alpine resort town of Wānaka, the track is framed by the Southern Alps and neighbours the world-famous Oxbow Adventure Co. Spectacular scenery meets high-speed racing, making it a must-visit stop on the tour.
Taranaki battles in Midhurst
The Taranaki Jet Sprint Track hosts two rounds of the season: Saturday 14 February and Saturday 21 March 2026. Based on Croydon Road, Midhirst, this venue has become a key battleground for championship points. Its challenging layout and passionate local crowd make it a fitting stage for the closing rounds, where titles are often decided. The March event will mark the season finale, promising plenty of fireworks on and off the water.
