A celebration for the Pauanui boating community

The Coromandel coastline will be buzzing this Labour Weekend as Family Boats Pauanui officially launches as a Yamaha dealership, marking a major milestone for the iconic Kiwi marine company.

The Grand Opening Celebration will be held on Sunday 26 October from 9:00am to 3:00pm at 58 Jubilee Drive, Centreway, Pauanui, and promises to be a fun-filled day for the whole family. There’ll be a free sausage sizzle and drinks, a kids’ colouring-in competition, giveaways and prizes, and plenty of exclusive opening-day deals on boats, outboards, and Yamaha WaveRunners.

It’s also a chance to meet the team, tour the new premises, and see why Family Boats has become a trusted name in New Zealand boating for more than three decades.

From Auckland’s largest dealership to Pauanui’s newest Yamaha hub

Family Boats has long been a cornerstone of the New Zealand boating scene. With 33 years in business and a sales team boasting over 110 years of combined marine experience, the company has built its reputation on customer service, expert advice, and an unmatched passion for life on the water.

Family Boats Pauanui first opened its doors in December 2021 as a small outlet for boating accessories and used boats. Today, it’s grown into an official Yamaha Outboard and WaveRunner dealership — making it easier than ever for locals and holidaymakers to find everything they need for the water. The move marks the next step in a long partnership with Yamaha — and reflects the company’s commitment to making boating accessible and enjoyable for families across the country.

“As passionate boaties ourselves, the best part about our business is helping other people experience the water and create lasting memories with their families and friends,” says the Family Boats team.

Award-winning partnership with Yamaha Marine

Adding to the celebrations, Family Boats has recently been named Overall Yamaha Dealer of the Year, an award that recognises the dealership’s outstanding performance, customer service, and technical excellence.

“We’re incredibly proud of our team and the trust our customers have placed in us,” the company said. “Whether it’s helping you find the perfect boat or keeping your Yamaha engine running at its best, we’re dedicated to making your marine experiences unforgettable.”

A season of new beginnings

The Pauanui grand opening marks both a celebration and a new chapter — for the company, for Yamaha, and for the local boating community. With world-class brands, local expertise, and a shared love for the sea, Family Boats Pauanui is set to become a hub for boaties across the Coromandel and beyond.

So, whether you’re a seasoned skipper or just getting started, head to Pauanui this Labour Weekend and be part of the action as Family Boats kicks off the season in true Kiwi boating style.
