Docklands comes alive for the Melbourne Boat Show 2025

Kiwi favourites and Aussie icons bring the boating lifestyle to Melbourne’s waterfront.

Written by

From Thursday until Sunday this week (16–19 October), Melbourne’s Docklands will come alive for the Melbourne Boat Show 2025, transforming New Quay Promenade and Harbour Esplanade into a five-marina showcase of boats, technology, and lifestyle. With more than 100 exhibitors on the water, it’s one of the largest boating events in Australasia.

This year’s line-up highlights the close connection between New Zealand and Australian boating. Kiwi builders Purekraft, Senator, McLay, Extreme, Stabicraft, Surtees, Makaira, White Pointer, and Rayglass will feature alongside Australian favourites including Palm Beach Motor Yachts, Haines Hunter, Bar Crusher, and Evolution Boats.

The New Zealand boats appear through a mix of direct factory stands and Australian partners such as Warragul Marine Centre, Inverloch Marine, MY Marine, Geelong Boating Centre, and JV Marine. The variety spans alloy hardtops, offshore sport-fishers, and family cruisers—each designed with practical, seaworthy thinking that appeals across both markets.

Among the larger displays, Palm Beach Motor Yachts marks its 30th anniversary with the Palm Beach 45, a model that reflects the brand’s approach to design and craftsmanship. European influence comes from Jeanneau Power & Sailing and Axopar, with Inspire Marine and Eyachts presenting the new Axopar 29 Cross Cabin and 45 XC.

Technology and tradition share the docks, with Raymarine, Icom, Volvo Penta, and Altex displaying new marine systems, while heritage tall ships Alma Doepel and Enterprize connect visitors with Melbourne’s maritime history.

With its open-air layout, waterfront views, and evening atmosphere, the Melbourne Boat Show 2025 blends innovation, heritage, and community in one event. It’s a genuine reflection of the region’s shared boating culture—one that crosses the Tasman and celebrates the people, ideas, and craftsmanship that keep boating vibrant on both shores.
