The art of freedom

Some yachts are built for speed. Others for status. The Maritimo M75 Talisman lives in a different realm where silence replaces spectacle and freedom becomes the ultimate luxury.

For a New Zealand couple who spend much of their lives at sea, this 75 foot motor yacht represents a long anticipated evolution. Their earlier boats gave them joy, yet Talisman offered something rarer, the ability to cruise anywhere, quietly and comfortably, with no crew and no limits.

“When we saw what Maritimo was creating with the M75, we were instantly drawn to the space. The bridge deck is incredible, and the Adventure Deck gives us so many options. Everything is within reach, and it all just works. That is the joy of this boat.”

This was not a simple upgrade. It was the realisation of a philosophy, live slowly, travel far, and remain entirely self reliant while doing it.

The journey to Talisman

After owning four Rivieras, the couple had a clear vision for their next boat. The emerging Maritimo M55 impressed with its open plan and practicality. The design for the new flagship captured their imagination and set the course.

“We signed up as the first build. The team at Motor Yacht Services in New Zealand handled everything, travelling across the Tasman several times during construction. When the yacht arrived, she was flawless. That speaks to how well the project was managed.”

Built during the complexities of the pandemic, the process remained smooth. It reflected Maritimo’s disciplined engineering and the owners’ careful planning.

Effortless control and endless calm

Privacy sits at the heart of Talisman. While many yachts of this size rely on full time crew, this one was conceived for two. From intuitive controls to thoughtful automation, everything is configured for ease.

“A quiet boat is essential to us. When we wake, it is to the sound of water, not machinery. That is what freedom is all about.”

Below decks, the utility cabin has been reimagined as a compact laundry and gear space. Wet gear and fishing tackle stay clear of living areas. The layout supports long range independence without fuss.

Life on board

The M75’s social spaces are where her luxury comes alive. The mezzanine deck is the owners’ favourite dining area, sheltered and breezy. The generous Adventure Deck creates a direct link to the sea and a flexible platform for any day plan.

“We have had friends raft up alongside us, music playing, everyone dancing. The next morning it is our quiet spot for paddle boards and coffee. That is the versatility of the design.”

Up top, the bridge deck feels like a floating lounge. With an inset bar, panoramic views, and true indoor to outdoor flow, it invites celebration and solitude in equal measure.

“We hosted a teen party up there. The doors were closed, music was going, and from our stateroom below we could not hear a thing. It is brilliantly designed.”

Every zone on Talisman serves a purpose. Not only to impress, but to make life at sea feel effortless.

Built for the blue horizon

From June to October 2026, Talisman will cross to Fiji. With proven shaft drive dependability and ocean ready range, the owners are quietly confident.

“We will cruise at about 9 or 10 knots and arrive with healthy reserves, even after a stop at Minerva Reef. That range gives us real freedom. It means we can go where the weather allows with no worries.”

A vessel named for meaning

A talisman is a symbol of protection and good fortune. This yacht lives up to its name. She represents more than craftsmanship or comfort. She is an embodiment of independence, a home that moves, a retreat that roams, and a reminder that the greatest luxury is the ability to choose your own horizon.
