SHAMBALA – Punch 1500 LC Built to sail, not to impress. SHAMBALA is a 2002 Punch 1500 LC —a design from Multicap Caraïbes that was engineered for cruisers who understand that capability outlasts flash. At 14.90 metres with an 8.10-metre beam and 1.40-metre draft, she's proven bluewater design from architects Mortain-Mavrikios who didn't overthink it: the shallow draft gets you into anchorages most cruisers can only dream of, the catamaran hull gives you real stability, and the layout works because it was built for people who actually live aboard.

Her current owner has had her since 2016 and clearly knows what he's doing. Recent comprehensive refits in 2018 and 2024 weren't cosmetic exercises—they were the work of someone who respects the boat. Twin Volvo D2 55-hp diesels with updated Saildrives, modern electronics, and fresh carbon sails from North Sails (68m² main, 80m² furling gennaker from 2020) mean she sails efficiently.

The systems work: 60 L/h watermaker, 600-litre water and fuel capacity, lithium battery bank with solar array, and a low-hour Fischer Panda generator for the stuff that matters. The layout is genuinely liveable. An aft owner's suite with a proper 160x200cm berth, forward guest cabins, electric heads with showers, and a convertible workshop space—all opening to a bright saloon and working cockpit.

This is how people actually cruise: with room to move, space for guests, and no pretence about square footage that photographs well but doesn't function. She's been maintained with intention. Dyneema lifelines, 2024 EPIRB, recent trampolines, full service history.

The details accumulate—the kind of details you only notice when you're someone who knows what to look for. Currently berthed in Phuket under Malaysian flag in good condition. A working boat that's been properly cared for.

If honest engineering and honest maintenance matter to you, come see her. Give Laurent or the team at 36 degrees a call.
