The Surtees 770 Game Fisher XL

Boating New Zealand joined Surtees in Whakatāne on Wednesday as the 770 Game Fisher XL was unveiled. More coverage to come at 5pm today when we release our first impressions.

The Surtees 770 Game Fisher XL

Not just a pretty face

When we said we were raising the bar, we weren’t kidding around. Surtees has never been shy about setting the standard, and we’ve lifted it again. The new 770 Game Fisher XL is taking the market by storm! Packing the capabilities of our 800 into a design that’s easier to tow, it’s the best of both worlds – big boat attitude and trailer boat freedom. Built to fill a gap in the Aussie market, where the 800’s wider beam limits towing to daylight hours, the 770 Game Fisher XL keeps that DNA within a 2.5 metre beam without compromising on comfort or practicality.

The 770 Game Fisher XL not only looks the part with the raised sheerline, delivering a sleek, contemporary look that sets it apart on the water, it also blends innovation, comfort, and that unmistakable Surtees DNA.

So, whether you are heading out wide with your mates, or taking the family out for a weekend adventure, the 770 Game Fisher XL has you covered!

What’s the Big Deal?

The 770 Game Fisher XL has it all.

Step through the bifold glass doors and into a cabin designed for comfort and practicality. There’s a double diesel cooker and heater, a pull-out drawer fridge, a hot and cold water sink, and a rise-and-fall table that converts to a third berth. Add in the new front-to-back passenger seat, generous dry storage, and it’s clear — this isn’t just a fishing boat, it’s your offshore basecamp.

Borrowing cues from the flagship 800, the 770 Game Fisher XL now features a recessed anchor well and Seadek as standard across the foredeck, walk-around cabin, and topsides. The 250mm longer cabin makes room for comfortable seating for up to 4 people, and the 2500mm beam keeps the deck open and social for up to eight on board.

At the helm, there’s space for a 19” sounder, radar mounting options, and a roof console that keeps the sound system and VHF neatly within reach. Sounders, radars, and engines are all owner’s choice — and the Surtees team will help you get it just right. With 17 of these boats already on order, you’ll want to secure yours soon!
