Nautor Swan marked 60 years by setting course for the future at boot Düsseldorf

Written by

Nautor Swan marked its 60th anniversary by looking decisively forward, using the recently concluded boot Düsseldorf as the launch platform for a year-long programme of celebrations, innovation and new product direction.

The anniversary year officially commenced with the Swan Soirée on 18 January, held during boot Düsseldorf, where the iconic Finnish sailing brand outlined a clear statement of intent for its seventh decade. Rather than focusing on nostalgia, Nautor Swan positioned 2026 as a defining moment shaped by renewed ambition, advanced technology and a strong vision for the future of performance sailing.

Founded in 1966 by Pekka Koskenkylä, approximately 345 kilometres south of the Arctic Circle, Nautor Swan quickly established a reputation for combining racing performance with true cruising capability. The launch of the Swan 36 Tarantella set the template for a design philosophy that balanced engineering precision with enduring elegance, a balance that has remained central to the brand ever since.

Now under the custodianship of Sanlorenzo, which acquired a majority stake in 2024, Nautor Swan entered its anniversary year backed by long-term investment and a shared commitment to innovation. Sanlorenzo Chairman and CEO Massimo Perotti said the anniversary represented a platform for progress, underpinned by new yacht generations, advanced propulsion technologies and an expanding global owner community.

Innovation featured strongly in the programme outlined in Düsseldorf. The anniversary year was confirmed to include the debut of the Swan 80, the new entry point to the Swan Maxi range, scheduled for launch at the Cannes Yachting Festival. Additional concepts were also revealed, including a return to the 70-foot segment with the Swan 73, the introduction of a new deep-sea cruising yacht line, and the Swan Alloy 44, the brand’s first aluminium supermaxi.

Alongside new launches, Nautor Swan reaffirmed its commitment to its global sailing community. A structured calendar of ClubSwan racing, international regattas and owner events will run throughout 2026, culminating in the Rolex Swan Cup in September, expected to attract a record fleet.

Further anniversary initiatives include the refit of the original Swan 36 Tarantella and her planned voyage to the Mediterranean to participate in the Rolex Swan Cup, reinforcing the connection between the brand’s origins and its future direction.
