The next generation of Outremer catamarans is now firmly taking shape, with major construction milestones reached on both the Outremer 48 and the flagship Outremer 64. These latest developments mark an important step in the evolution of the brand’s bluewater cruising range, reinforcing Outremer’s long standing focus on performance, reliability and the pure enjoyment of offshore sailing.
At the Lorient yard, the Outremer 48 has reached one of the most symbolic moments in catamaran construction, the joining of the deck. This stage defines the final silhouette of the yacht and signals the transition from structural build to interior fit out and finishing work. It is a technically demanding phase, requiring precision and coordination across multiple trades, but it is also the moment when the boat’s proportions and living volumes truly come to life.
Matthieu Rougevin Barrville, Sales Director at Outremer, was on site to witness the milestone.
“It’s an iconic moment. This is when you really start to see the boat’s final look and living volumes. It’s also a technically demanding phase, with plenty of adjustments and always a bit of suspense. We can’t wait to see her on the water.”

Meanwhile, work on the Outremer 64 has moved into the exterior finishing stage at the La Grande Motte yard, with the application of gelcoat now underway. This phase gives the yacht its final exterior appearance before the teams progress through the next stages of material application and detailed finishing. Designed for the most ambitious sailing programmes, the Outremer 64 represents the brand’s most advanced long distance cruising platform to date.
Built as a semi custom flagship, the Outremer 64 blends four decades of offshore engineering expertise with refined design input from Patrick Le Quément and interior architecture by Franck Darnet Design. Conceived to accommodate owners cruising with or without professional crew, it introduces dedicated crew spaces and circulation while preserving privacy and simplicity for owner sailors. Extensive modularity, including the exclusive double MyFreeSpace concept, allows the yacht to evolve alongside changing cruising plans and life aboard.

Together, these milestones reflect the commitment of Outremer’s teams to developing a new generation of catamarans designed first and foremost for offshore use. Every stage of construction is driven by the same objective, to deliver boats capable of covering serious miles, crossing oceans, and supporting long term life projects at sea.
Outremer will continue to share progress updates as construction advances, with further key milestones to be revealed in the months ahead.
