Electric propulsion exhibitors – Auckland Boat Show 2026

The Auckland Boat Show opens on 5 March 2026 with a focused group of electric marine exhibitors on display. Across New Zealand, a growing segment of small boat owners is exploring electric propulsion as a practical alternative to traditional fossil fuels. For some, reduced running and maintenance costs are the primary attraction. For others, the appeal lies in quiet operation, instant torque and the benefit of zero exhaust emissions on the water.

Exhibitors at this year’s show will present electric propulsion systems, even those propelling a number of exciting water toys. While this number remains modest compared with the extensive electric presence at, say, boot Düsseldorf, it is good to see local development.

Notably absent from this year’s exhibitor list are Candela and Vessev. Vessev recently introduced the Vessev VS–9 Skye, aimed at the recreational day boat market, while both Vessev and Candela continue to expand globally within the electric tourism and group travel sectors.

Their absence creates an opportunity to focus attention on the innovators who will be present outside, on the water, and inside the VEC.

ZeroJet

Auckland based ZeroJet focuses on electric jet propulsion segment for vessels under six metres. They have grown from early stage development in 2019 to an established supplier of electric jet systems for tenders and small craft.

At this year’s show, ZeroJet will display two tenders: a ZeroJet powered AB Inflatables model and a new Southern Pacific Boats inflatable equipped with the company’s electric jet unit. The show provides visitors with a first opportunity to inspect these tenders in person.

Awake Electric Jetboards & eFoils

Awake will present its range of high performance electric jetboards and eFoils. Their models include the VINGA Adventure, VINGA Ultimate eFoil models, and the RÄVIK jetboard models.

These products offer electric powered acceleration and near silent operation, targeting the premium water sports and superyacht tender markets.

Naut

Naut, the Whangārei based technology company around since 2021, designs and manufactures high performance electric propulsion systems for recreational and commercial vessels.

At the 2026 Auckland Boat Show, Naut will present its first market ready fully electric boat package. The vessel, Ngaru, powered by Naut, has been commissioned to showcase the company’s integrated propulsion and battery system. The package delivers instant torque, reduced noise and zero emissions.

For Naut, the launch represents a significant commercial milestone as it transitions from system development to complete boat integration.

Evocean

Evocean Electric Power & Propulsion is an Auckland-based company that specialises in premium electric outboard motors (notably ePropulsion) and electric boat solutions, targeting tenders, sailboats, and small craft.

At the 2026 Auckland Boat Show, Evocean will feature the ePropulsion Spirit 2 which arrived at Evocean in late 2025. Rated at 2kW, approximately equivalent to a 6hp petrol outboard, the unit is designed for dinghies, tenders and small trailer boats.

Located VEC Ground Floor, Stand 107.

Boatgear Marine Wholesale

Boatgear Marine Wholesale, formerly Tenob Wholesale Marine, will exhibit a range of marine technology products. They represent TEMO, the electric propulsion manufacturer from France. TEMO’s lightweight electric outboards are designed primarily for small tenders and auxiliary applications, offering an alternative to traditional small capacity petrol engines.

Electric boating momentum in New Zealand

While electric boating remains a developing segment in New Zealand, there are numerous positive reasons for exploring this as an option. The exhibitors confirmed for this year’s event represent a cross section of propulsion systems, integrated electric packages, and watercraft.
