Sailing Zingaro and PredictWind launch new “Playbook” for leveraging modern marine weather technology

Leading marine weather forecaster PredictWind has partnered with professional offshore sailor, educator, and author James Evenson – the face of Sailing Zingaro – to launch a new YouTube video series designed to help sailors understand the full potential of modern weather technology.

The five-part series, titled “PredictWind Playbook by Sailing Zingaro,” moves beyond basic forecasting to illustrate the full potential of modern marine weather technology as a decision-support system. In this series, James shares his framework for comparing global forecast models, choosing the right departure windows, and interpreting routing data to plan safer, more comfortable passages.

“James is a long-time user of PredictWind, and we are excited to team up with him to create this educational series,” says Jon Bilger, Founder of PredictWind. “This playbook goes beyond simply reading forecasts. Drawing on decades of experience and over 85,000 nautical miles offshore, James provides clear, practical advice on the capabilities of modern weather tools, helping boat owners understand what is possible when planning ahead and making confident decisions on the water.”
