Waiheke Island: boating made easy

Sometimes it’s the small details that make the biggest difference, especially when it comes to boating. At Waiheke Marina, those thoughtful touches are designed to make boating simpler, more comfortable and surprisingly cost-effective.

Provisioning your boat couldn’t be easier. The island offers full supermarket facilities, and many boat owners take advantage of online grocery ordering with deliveries brought directly to the marina. Alcohol deliveries can be arranged to the dock, meaning less planning and more time enjoying the water.

Transport connections are another advantage. There’s a bus stop right outside the marina gate, Sealink ferries arrive virtually next door, and for over-65s, Gold Card ferry access makes regular trips to Auckland affordable and convenient. Hire cars are also available from the marina for those wanting to explore further afield.

Security and peace of mind matter year-round. Waiheke Marina offers a safe, secure environment along with quality showers and amenities that make longer stays genuinely comfortable.

Many berth holders also use their vessel as a weekend escape. With accommodation on Waiheke often at a premium, staying aboard can be a far more economical option, and arguably a much more enjoyable one. Step off the dock to visit local restaurants, enjoy the new on-site café, or simply soak up the island atmosphere.

The location itself is hard to beat. Already sitting within the Hauraki Gulf cruising grounds, Waiheke Marina provides immediate access to what many consider New Zealand’s finest boating destination, just a short ferry trip from the mainland.

This winter, it may be the little conveniences, easy provisioning, seamless transport, great facilities and a welcoming community, that turn a marina berth into something much more than a place to tie up.
