Flying higher: How the Flite Series 6 platform redefines the eFoil Experience

Written by

Flite, an innovative subsidiary of the Brunswick Corporation, has officially launched Series 6, a comprehensive, range-wide evolution of its world-leading eFoil platform.

Series 6 focuses on confidence-building engineering, targeted durability upgrades, and refined hydrodynamics. By categorising the lineup into distinct riding “lanes,” Flite has simplified choices for consumers while pushing the boundary of what electric marine craft can do.

Take Flite

Flite, part of Brunswick Corporation, has launched Series 6 — an updated eFoil platform with improved board designs and performance spanning the AIR, ICON, PRO, ULTRA, and RACE models. Highlights include Soft Top 2 construction for ICON and PRO, new features for ULTRA L3, and FLUX wings from FLITELab for better glide and control. The Flite App connects riders and tracks performance, reinforcing Flite’s reputation as the benchmark in electric hydrofoil technology.

The Series 6 lineup: Purpose-built performance lanes

The new platform spans five distinct models tailored to specific rider profiles, moving from pure accessibility to elite, podium-ready performance.

  1. AIR, inflatable and forgiving: Built with an inflatable chassis, offering maximum volume, forgiving touchdowns, and unmatched durability for beginners or rental fleets.
  2. ICON, versatile everyday cruiser: Renamed from the original signature Fliteboard to honour its category-defining legacy, this model serves as the ultimate versatile cruiser for everyday riders.
  3. PRO, responsive and playful: Designed for those seeking a highly responsive, playful, and agile ride to carve up flat water.
  4. ULTRA L3, wave specialised and agile (surf): A hyper-focused, wave-specialised weapon built for riders who want a surf-driven experience.
  5. RACE, elite speed (Mercury Racing): A high-velocity machine engineered for professional, competitive foilers.

Key technology upgrades

1. Soft Top 2 construction (ICON and PRO)

For the ICON and PRO models, Flite introduces Soft Top 2 construction. This design pairs a rigid fiberglass core with an updated EVA foam top layer wrapped entirely around the rails. It adds a thermoformed outer layer for impact protection and utilises a heavy-duty ABS plastic tail to absorb inevitable scuffs and beaching abuse. The result is a lighter, highly durable board with controlled flex that does not compromise on responsiveness.

2. Advanced surf engineering on the ULTRA L3

The ULTRA L3 stands out as the lightest, narrowest, and most reactive board in the entire lineup. Flite engineers optimized its geometry by shifting the mast position forward. This places the foil’s lift directly under the rider’s natural stance, boosting pitch control and turning agility. Additionally, an integrated tail kicker provides an intuitive physical reference point for blind foot placement when tackling heavy ocean swells.

3. FLITELab FLUX wings and conical interfaces

Borrowing technology from their dedicated unpowered foiling division, FLITELab*, Series 6 integrates the FLUX wing range. These mid-aspect, surf-inspired wings feature a proprietary conical mount interface. The streamlined connection eliminates structural play, dramatically lowers hydrodynamic drag, and delivers a highly intuitive rail-to-rail carve.

4. The Mercury Racing collaboration (RACE Model)

For riders demanding extreme velocity, the Fliteboard RACE is a direct collaboration with legendary marine propulsion experts, Mercury Racing. Slicing through flat water with an ultra-narrow carbon silhouette, it features a custom-engineered RACE impeller designed to unlock higher RPMs, propelling elite riders to top speeds of 55 km/h (34 mph).

Connected ecosystem: The Flite app upgrade

The hardware evolution is closely tied to digital tracking. The updated Flite App transforms the eFoil into a smart, connected data hub.

  • APEX 250 Leaderboard: Compete globally in an out-and-back 250-meter speed challenge.
  • Advanced Telemetry: Tracks real-time lean angles, G-force metrics, and exact battery draw.
  • Fly Zones: App-integrated GPS routing allows riders to discover local spots and log analytics effortlessly.

The Flite Series 6 launch demonstrates how a market leader matures. Rather than engineering radical changes to a system that already works perfectly, Flite and Brunswick Corporation have focused on the details: stronger rails, better foot placement markers, cleaner wing physics, and smarter software. It confidently secures Flite’s position at the apex of luxury personal watercraft.
