Seven New Zealand paddle sport athletes will represent the country at the ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Cup in Montreal this July, with the squad spanning clubs from across the North Island.

Aimee Fisher from Hawkes Bay Kayak Racing Club heads the selection, joined by a strong contingent from North Shore Canoe Club: James Scott, Kacey Ngataki, Kaiha Gilbertson, and Kalani Gilbertson. Quaid Thompson (Poverty Bay Kayak Club) and Scott Martlew (Arawa Canoe Club) complete the seven-strong team.

The World Cup runs 9–12 July at Parc Jean-Drapeau’s Olympic Basin in Montréal, Québec, one of North America’s premier paddle racing venues. The competition will test New Zealand’s sprint paddlers against elite international fields across multiple boat classes and distances.

Full event information is available through the ICF’s official canoe sprint calendar.
