ELECTRIC STEERING

Dometic Marine’s new Electric Power Assist Steering System brings smooth and easy steering to mechanically steered outboard-powered boats. It fits all major outboard brands and integrates with existing steering systems.

Suitable for a wide range of boats with single outboards of between 90 and 200hp: pontoons, runabouts, RIBS, aluminium fishing boats and centre consoles, it integrates with any existing SeaStar rack or rotary cable steering system and works with standard or tilt helms.

Electric Power Assist offers quick response to the wheel and consistent steering effort. Once installed, the mechanical steering cable only turns the power assist unit, while the electric steering actuator turns the engine – there’s no increase in load on the mechanical steering helm or cable. This ensures reliable longterm performance.

In the unlikely event of failure, the system automatically reverts to standard mechanical steering.

The system’s designed for easy plug-and-play installation by dealers, marine mechanics, OEMs and end users. Production is scheduled for early 2021.
