Sanlorenzo unveils SHE, a fresh nod to the navetta era

Written by

Italian builder Sanlorenzo has put the first hull of its new Heritage range in the water at its Ameglia yard, with the yacht set to make her public bow at the Cannes Yachting Festival this September. Named SHE, the 25.5 metre model is the shipyard’s take on the classic Italian navetta style that defined the 1960s, rebuilt from the keel up with modern systems and materials.

Exterior styling comes from long-time Sanlorenzo collaborator Zuccon International Project, while Piero Lissoni has handled the interior architecture. The pairing is meant to honour the unhurried, well-proportioned look of the original navetta hulls while giving owners the comfort and technology expected of a new-build today. Sanlorenzo frames the project under its “Tomorrow’s Timeless” tagline, essentially a promise that the yacht is styled to age well rather than chase passing trends.

Buyer response has been swift. Sanlorenzo says the first five examples have already been sold, a strong early signal for a brand-new model line entering an already crowded semi-custom segment.

On the technical side, SHE is notable as the first Sanlorenzo build to run Volvo Penta’s IPS Hybrid propulsion, blending diesel and electric power. She’s paired with a custom 3.9 metre carbon tender that runs on electric drive, both choices pointing to the yard’s push toward lower-impact cruising rather than outright performance claims.

Layout-wise, the yacht spreads guest accommodation across a full-beam owner’s suite plus a VIP and a further guest cabin, all with en suite bathrooms. Living space runs over three levels, tied together by a mezzanine linking the main and lower decks. Forward, there’s a sun-lounging area on the foredeck, and aft the sundeck is built around Sanlorenzo’s modular Smart Island furniture, so the layout can be reconfigured depending on how owners want to use the space. At anchor, the transom folds out into a level platform at the waterline, effectively adding a beach club to the stern.

Sanlorenzo’s executive chairman Massimo Perotti tied the launch back to the brand’s broader design philosophy, saying SHE demonstrates how the most enduring ideas continue to inspire when reinterpreted with a clear and conscious intent.

Once she’s shown at Cannes, SHE joins a Sanlorenzo range that now stretches from 24 metre day boats through to the 74 metre steel-hulled flagships, with the order book currently running well over a hundred yachts deep across the group.
