This 2014 Bavaria Vision 42 brings together solid German build quality with a deck-saloon layout that still makes sense for New Zealand conditions. The raised helm and saloon give good all-round visibility and let plenty of light into the accommodation below, without costing her manners when the breeze gets up offshore. Bavaria has built its name on solid fibreglass construction and finishing that holds up over time, and this example carries that reputation through.
Below decks there's a practical galley, good stowage and cabin space laid out for extended time aboard, whether that's a weekend away or a longer cruise. As a monohull she handles predictably in open water. Moderate displacement and a well-balanced rig mean she's easy enough for a couple to manage, with enough yacht under them for more serious passages when the time comes.
Based in Auckland, she's well placed for Hauraki Gulf sailing, trips north to the Bay of Islands, or further afield. At NZD $380,000, this is a well-presented European-built cruising yacht worth a look for anyone after a proven platform. Contact Busfield Marine to arrange an inspection.
