FATCAT SIRES AIRCAT

FOUNDED BY BLAIR MCLAY AND ROGER TWEDDELL on the Hibiscus Coast, Fatcat’s design philosophy for boats is about stability, space and safety, with an emphasis on superb handling at speed.

Fatcat, a specialist HDPE polymer boat manufacturer, was continually being asked for a bigger design than their roto-moulded 4000 model, but with the limitations of moulding technology, building in alloy was deemed more suitable for boats over 5.0 metres.

A 5.25m 5000 model to Blair’s design was built by a specialist alloy constructor Tekam Engineering in Napier. The resulting prototype is a stable, great handling boat, with the space of a 6m monohull or more.
