NAMU is a well performed racing yacht, and she has probably won more races at RNZYS than any other yacht. She has now retired from racing and over the last 4 years, she has been converted into a comfortable cruising yacht. She now has an upgraded electrical system, 2 house batteries and 1 engine battery.
2 alternators on her engine, 1 for house, 1 for engine, with emergency parallel selection. Added electric Isotherm fridge and freezer. Electric Anchor winch.
New VHF's permanent and handheld. Newly relined FWD double bunk, added extra mattress on top of squabs for a very comfortable sleeping arrangement. 5 berths.
Added crane for ease of getting outboard on to dingy. Replaced her tired Sole engine for a second hand Lombardini, runs like a new engine, no problems, starts every time. New prop shaft, ungraded to 25 mm, close to bullet proof, considering size of yacht and engine.
New laminated floorboards, Kahikatea and Matai. Small holding tank for on board toilet. Current electrical warrant of fitness, 240volt shore connection.
A new gas system has been installed and certified. New stack pack for ease of packing away main sail. New cockpit Bimini.
Electric water pump for Galley sink, head sink and cockpit shower nozzle. Marina berth is rented and should be able to be carried on with negotiation. Fully sanded and antifouled Dec 2024.
Passed survey with flying colours in December 2024.
