SPECIAL NOTES
Under Contract

MOTIVATED TO SELL with a pre-purchase survey available upon request. Introducing Trust, a beautifully crafted 14m Sailing Yacht proudly built and designed by Kiwi boat builder Mick Orchard. Trust was originally built as his own personal yacht.

The design draws on years of experience, refining ideas from Orchard's celebrated career in cruising yacht design. While his most popular creation is the Orchard 39, only one yacht of this larger design was ever built. Trust is a spacious, high-volume cruiser with an extensive specification.

The cabin joinery, crafted from Canadian maple, exemplifies the exceptional quality of her build. She is well-suited for short-handed ocean passages and was rated Cat 1 in 2014 prior to a South Pacific cruise. Trust was also featured in NZ Boating shortly after her launch, with an electronic copy of the article available on request.

The current owners have enjoyed Trust since 2007. The hull is constructed with 25×50 convex/concave kauri edge-glued planks over laminated frames, glassed with 32oz triaxial cloth on the exterior and an additional 10oz cloth over the fairing. The interior of the hull is reinforced with another layer of 32oz triaxial cloth.

The boat's construction includes a structural grid that supports the keel and mast loads, which also provides built-in tankage for water and diesel. Trust features a cutter rig, with an overlapping headsail on the forestay and a self-tacking storm sail on an inner forestay. Both headsails are controlled by MK2 Harken furlers (units 2.5 and 1.5).

The mast, supplied by Spar Loft, was overhauled and resprayed in 2005. Rigging was replaced in 2007, and the forestay was renewed again in 2024. A jockey pole is mounted on the mast, and the boom is fitted with Leisurefurl in-boom furling.

The yacht comes with a full wardrobe of sails, all replaced during the current ownership. The genoa (new in 2011) is made from Spectra by Doyle Sails. The heavy-duty dacron storm jib (new in 2015) is also by Doyle Sails.

The fully battened main, by Lidgard Leisurefurl, was replaced in 2016. A lightweight Code Zero is also included, flown off the bow and hoisted with the spare genoa halyard. A storm trysail is also available for rigging off the mast.

To enhance ease of handling, the cockpit is equipped with four large Maxwell 2-speed electric sheet winches. Two manual Maxwell winches are mounted on the mast for headsail halyard use. All lines, except for the headsail halyards, are led back to the cockpit.

Trust offers a rare opportunity to own a meticulously crafted, high-performance cruising yacht. Schedule your viewing today at Half-moon bay marina and experience this exceptional vessel firsthand.
