A well-loved classic with a modern twist, this 1977 Firecrest Half Cabin is up for grabs at $10,500, offering excellent value for boaties looking for a capable, trailerable fishing and family cruiser.

At 4.8 metres (15’9”) in length, the fibreglass mono-hull presents as a compact and manageable platform that’s ideal for inshore fishing, harbour cruising or family outings. The boat is powered by a 115hp Johnson 2-stroke outboard (2000), capable of delivering a lively top speed of around 80kph, with a 5hp Honda auxiliary (2001, 4-stroke) mounted for peace of mind on longer trips.

The vessel has benefited from significant care and recent upgrades. The trailer has been fully refurbished and re-registered, sporting three new tyres and rims, a new 5-stud axle, a new winch, and has a Warrant of Fitness valid until July 2026 with registration through to October 2025. A brand new Ocean South jumbo boat cover, valued at $570, is included in the sale.

This Firecrest has received multiple interior and exterior enhancements. The hull has been freshly repainted, with the interior recently recoated as well. The windscreen and windows were replaced four years ago, and the upper paintwork remains in good condition. Practical onboard features include a Lowrance Elite-5 fish finder, fixed VHF radio with aerial, FM radio and speaker, new CCA750 battery, bilge pump, and a 70-litre stainless steel fuel tank positioned at the stern.

For fishers, the setup is ideal. There’s an anchor, bait board, and useful green/red LED light strips down the gunwales for night work. Safety gear includes a first aid kit and a flare kit (expiry not confirmed). Access is simple with a fixed rear ladder, and cabin lighting adds functionality during darker hours.

The boat is named Sea’s The Day, and comes with a registered call sign, ideal for staying visible and connected on the water.

Located in East Tāmaki, Auckland, the seller is parting with the boat due to family and business commitments. Having invested significantly into keeping it in great condition, this is a tidy package for someone wanting a classic half cabin with modern upgrades, ready to hitch up and go.
