The hull design maximises sailing performance in all wind conditions, courtesy of its generous sail plan, high quality mast and rig and discontinuous rod rigging.
The deck layout features a self-taking jib, with the sheet handled by one of the halyard winches, and a mainsheet track recessed into the cockpit sole with an 8:1 purchase traveller control system. Each of the twin wheels is connected to its own quadrant with completely independent wire systems for safety and redundancy.
Toughened glass coachroof windows flood the interior with natural light, while large flush skylights and opening side windows provide excellent ventilation. Teak is standard in the cockpit – optional on side decks and the coach roof top – as well as on the electrically operated bathing platform.
Available in three or four cabin variants, the X46 has two bathrooms, a forward facing nav station, electrical switchboard and space for optional navigational, communicational and radio equipment behind locker doors.
The new X46 will debut in July 2018.
