McD Yachts is a new, boutique yacht sales and brokerage outfit named after its founder, Kiwi Paul MacDonald.
MacDonald has years of international experience in the yachting industry – beginning with racing internationally, building yachts with Marten and for the last two decades heading up Super Yacht sales at Southern Spars.
McD Yachts specialises in bringing no more than four exclusive new boat brands to the Australasian market, beginning with Omikron Yachts, as well as offering carefully selected, high-quality luxury second-hand power and sail boats for sale.

Omikron Yachts is a new Greek boatbuilder producing high-quality luxury cruising motor yachts in Lavrio, near Athens. Omikron is a daughter company of Olympic Marine, responsible for more than 2000 sailing yachts in its 50-year history to date.
The first Omikron, an OT-60 with naval design by Juan Kouyoumidan (Juan K Naval Architects) and interior and exterior styling by Lorenzo Argento, debuted in Europe earlier this year. It combines sailing yacht design principles with motor yacht space to create a luxurious, highly efficient long-range cruiser. The OT-60 was European Powerboat of the Year 2024, Long Range Yacht.
Construction of the OT-60’s Eco-Cruise hull is by vacuum infusion, with the superstructure in carbon fibre, lightening the composite by up to a third in the upper parts of the vessel and enhancing stability. All woodwork and assembly are carried out in-house.
“Omikron Yachts believes that enjoying the beauty of cruising at sea and respecting the environment go hand in hand,” said Paul MacDonald. “The OT-60 is the perfect combination of the quiet, easy-going lifestyle of sailing and the convenience and space of a power yacht, making the journey as enjoyable as the destination with a very low fuel consumption and in total quietness.”
McD Yachts introduced Omikron at the 2024 Sydney Boat International Boat Show and the OT-60 is now offered for sale in Australia and New Zealand.

As well as Omikron Yachts, McD Yachts will represent Xquisite Yachts in Australasia, beginning with the high-quality Xquisite 40-foot powercat – “the perfect party boat”. MacDonald is confident this outboard powered cat by Dixon Yacht Design will find favour in this part of the world.

In addition, McD Yachts is in negotiation with two more high-profile boat builders, which will bring the new boat sales portfolio up to four. These new boat sales will be complemented by a selection of hand-picked second-hand offerings.
“McD Yachts aims to remain a small, low volume operation offering a limited number of high-quality yachts to discerning customers,” says MacDonald. “Backed by our trusted international networks, we match our clients with the perfect vessel – and their ultimate lifestyle.”
McD Yachts is based in Auckland.
