Mercury’s new single-engine joystick – first demo available in the world

Mercury has announced the introduction of Joystick Piloting for Single-Engine Vessels with Thruster, further expanding its market-leading portfolio of joystick vessel controls.

Available for installation from Q2 2025, this innovative system was unveiled at the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show in Miami Beach, Florida. And now it is being demonstrated live at the Auckland Boat Show – the first live demo at a boat show anywhere in the world! Come and see the joystick in action down at the Marina precinct.

Compatible with V12, V10, and V8 Verado outboards equipped with Mercury’s electric steering, the new system integrates a bow thruster for single-engine applications, offering precise control during slow-speed operations and docking manoeuvres and enabling vessel control capabilities not possible on traditional single-engine applications, like 360o rotation of the vessel and sideways movements.
