The Barfoot & Thompson Female Sailor of the Year is 2.0 Racing Team
The 2.0 Racing Team won the Barfoot and Thompson Female Sailor of the Year at the 2025 Yachting Excellence Awards. Based at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and skippered by Megan Thomson, the all female crew earned the honour after a standout season highlighted by their second place at the 2025 World Sailing Women’s Match Racing World Championship in Chicago. They pushed five time world champion Pauline Courtois to a winner takes all final race, repeating their silver medal from the 2024 worlds in Jeddah. The recognised crew were Thomson, Tiana Wittey, Josi Andres, Charlotte Porter and Hattie Rogers. Beyond results, the team was celebrated for their influence as role models for young women in high performance sailing.
