New Zealand sailor Viki Moore to speak at the WWSA Gathering on the Bay 2026

Written by

New Zealand sailor and offshore cruising advocate Viki Moore will attend the WWSA Gathering on the Bay 2026 in person next year, bringing deep South Pacific experience to one of Australia’s largest women’s sailing events.

Hosted by Women Who Sail Australia, the three day Gathering on the Bay takes place in Port Stephens from 27 to 29 March 2026. The event welcomes women across the full spectrum of boating, from first time learners to liveaboard cruisers and offshore racers.

Moore is the Managing Director of Island Cruising, a business that supports sailors preparing for coastal and offshore passages through education, resources, and organised rallies. She purchased Island Cruising in 2021 and later the Down Under Rally, expanding opportunities for sailors heading beyond their home waters.

At the Gathering, Moore will speak about preparing a yacht for offshore sailing and highlight cruising destinations close to home, including New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand. Her session is expected to resonate with sailors considering their first serious offshore step. Moore will also be available for one on one conversations about cruising plans and rally participation over the course of the 3 days.

A lifelong sailor and RYA Offshore Yachtmaster, Moore has held senior roles across the sailing world, including Director of Yachting New Zealand, founder of Women Who Sail New Zealand, and Regional Rear Commodore South Pacific for the Ocean Cruising Club. She has received multiple awards recognising her service to the sailing and cruising community.

Across the weekend, Moore will also be available for informal one on one conversations about cruising plans and rally participation.
