The FIV Foil Academy powered by Luna Rossa took advantage of the Preliminary Regatta Sardinia to continue its calendar of activities dedicated to foiling sailing in the Sardinian capital.

«The three-day event in Cagliari was a great success», explains Alessandra Sensini, FIV Youth Technical Director and Head of the Academy. Although it was not possible to carry out a proper Fly Test activity due to the navigation restrictions imposed during the AC40 race days, the initiative still attracted enormous interest from the public.

On the water, federal athletes put on a show aboard Switch, Waszp, BirdyFish and Wing, while on land instructors and technicians provided information on the different types of boats and responded to the many enquiries from people interested in attending a sailing school. «I believe there will be a boom in registrations this summer» said the multiple Olympic medallist. The two areas set up by the Federation, in the Race Village and at Lazzaretto, with the boats assembled and on display, were highly frequented, as was the area dedicated to Parasailing, where the HANSA 303 boat was on display, ideal for safely introducing people with disabilities to this sport.

Simone Bartesaghi of Luna Rossa also took part in the activity and described it as a wonderful experience: «Explaining the technical details of flight and foiling navigation is not easy, especially to very young people, but I was truly impressed by the curiosity and interest they showed towards these topics. Of course, many wanted to know more about the personal journey that eventually brought me to Luna Rossa, and I was very pleased to see such strong participation. Overall, the FIV Foil Academy powered by Luna Rossa seems to me to be a fantastic opportunity to convey important and positive messages».
