©Vincent Olivaud This Thursday, we join the entire offshore racing community and sports lovers everywhere in mourning a tremendous loss. Our deepest condolences go out to Charlie Dalin’s family, loved ones, and all those who sailed alongside him. An exceptional skipper and fierce competitor, Charlie was above all a passionate sailor and ocean devotee—a role model that transcended sport itself. At every race, we witnessed the tenacity and determination that defined him and drove everything he did. Our thoughts remain with his family and those closest to him.
“It is with immense sadness that we learn of Charlie’s passing. Today, we honour both the man and the champion. The champion with an extraordinary record who shaped sailing history through his talent, his standards, and his resolve. But also the passionate, humble man who was deeply committed, whose strength of character and ability to bounce back from adversity command our respect. Through his journey and achievements, Charlie left an indelible mark on sailing and on our sport. His legacy will endure in our racing and in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have known him. On behalf of all the teams at OC Sport Pen Duick, we extend our deepest sympathies to his family, loved ones, and his entire crew.”
