TYKUN flagship tender to debut at Monaco in September

Written by

A new 12.9 metre flagship tender from Italian builder TYKUN is set for its first public showing at the Monaco Yacht Show in September. The XII pairs a top speed above 50 knots with enough onboard accommodation for weekends away.

TYKUN has designed the model to work across three roles: chase boat, dayboat or weekender. Two layouts are offered. The Low Bow version has a walkaround deck, an open-plan cabin and a separate bathroom. The High Bow version removes the walkaround in favour of extra interior space. On both, fold-down bulwarks at the stern turn the cockpit into a beach terrace with direct water access.

Builder MED Group, which normally supplies naval, civil enforcement and special forces vessels, has constructed the hull from 5000-series aluminium. Features include stepped hull geometry, a hybrid fender system and a raised bow, which TYKUN says lift efficiency at speed and improve comfort and safety in rough water. Power comes from twin outboards in 400hp, 450hp or 600hp configurations.

Fuel capacity runs to 1,300 litres across twin 650 litre tanks, with up to 300 litres of freshwater aboard.

The XII was designed by Italian naval architect Tommaso Spadolini, working from a concept developed with Benedetta Iovane. “The result is a boat that remains dynamic and purposeful, yet offers a more refined cruising experience,” Spadolini said.

It follows the smaller TYKUN X, launched at Monaco in 2025, and is currently under construction on Italy’s Adriatic coast.
