2023 Beneteau Oceanis 30.1 listed in Auckland at $349,000

A 2023 Beneteau Oceanis 30.1 is for sale in Auckland, with the asking price recently reduced to NZD $349,000 through 36 Degrees Brokerage. At 9.53 metres overall with a 2.99 metre beam and 1.88 metre draft, the near-new monohull has barely been off the marina berth since launch.

The Oceanis 30.1 was drawn by naval architects Finot-Conq, with interior and deck styling from Nauta Design, and the pairing shows in how the boat is built to be sailed shorthanded. All the sail handling lines run aft to the cockpit, within reach of the twin wheels, so a solo sailor or a couple can trim, tack and steer without leaving the helm.

This example wears the classic Beneteau look, white hull with the marque’s blue striping, white topsides and tan canvas, giving it a sleek, modern profile at the dock. Twin steering wheels are linked to twin rudders, a layout that opens up cockpit sightlines from either helm station and gives the boat a built-in backup if one steering system ever needs attention.

Practical touches carry through the cockpit. A dive deck lowers for swimming or stepping ashore and locks up flush when underway, and the central cockpit table folds away without the old routine of lifting the top off and stowing the leg separately. It is built around a fixed stainless steel hoop set into the cockpit sole, so the hinged leaves simply fold down for a clear cockpit at the end of the day.

Below, the interior runs to a light colourway, Alpi oak surfaces, oak laminate floorboards and white overhead panels, brightened further by the boat’s roof windows and hull ports. Down the companionway, a U-shaped galley with a gimballed stove sits to starboard, opposite the head. The saloon table folds down but stays fixed in place rather than lifting out, and doubles as a bottle rack and storage locker.

Small, yet oh so big!

In 2019 Beneteau’s stylish new Oceanis 30.1 was the smallest yacht in the brand’s cruising range, boasting trailability, simplicity and lots of living space for her size.

Forward, the main cabin has a double-door entry onto a V-shaped double berth, while a second cabin set back from the galley offers a further double, giving the 30.1 two-cabin, one-head accommodation in a boat well under 10 metres.

The pairing of Finot-Conq and Nauta Design carries through the wider “point-one” Oceanis generation, the same combination Boating NZ has covered on larger models like the 34.1, and it shows in how much living space the 30.1 packs into under 10 metres. The boat has also picked up recognition since launch, including Sail Magazine’s Best Boats award and Cruising World’s Boat of the Year in 2020. For an Auckland buyer chasing a compact, easy-to-handle cruiser without the maintenance backlog of an older yacht, a 2023 example at this price is a rare combination on the local market.
