Makai Yachts has unveiled the Makai 42, a power catamaran that sets a new standard for efficiency, comfort, and versatility in the 40-foot cruising segment.
Designed for discerning boaters, it combines advanced naval architecture with contemporary European styling to deliver long-range capability without sacrificing luxury or performance. At its core is a patented airglide system that optimises aerodynamic lift, reducing drag, enhancing comfort, and improving fuel efficiency for a smoother ride across varying conditions.
The Makai 42 features a highly configurable cockpit, with options including an extended aft layout ideal for fishing, water sports, and entertaining. This space can be equipped with dedicated sportfishing amenities while maintaining onboard comfort.
Multiple configurations are available, including a sedan layout, a flybridge option, and an optional tuna tower, allowing owners to tailor
the vessel to their preferred boating style. Inside, an open-plan design connects indoor and outdoor living spaces, with panoramic windows and multiple social areas. Below deck, flexible cabin layouts – including a full-beam master – offer comfort for extended stays.
Powered by twin outboards or twin Yanmar diesel engines, with optional higher-output configurations, the Makai 42 delivers strong performance and reliability. Optional QSpeed surface drive and hydrofoil technology further boost speed, efficiency, and reduce maintenance.
Combining innovative technology, flexible design, and refined luxury, the Makai 42 is equally suited to long-range cruising or serious offshore fishing.
Designed in Italy by Emanuele Rossi, built in Croatia, and based in the UK, Makai Yachts brings together European design and craftsmanship.
