A compact version of Roger Hill’s 13.9m Tank is under construction at Noosa Marine. The 7.95m “Mini Tank” (8.76m with engine) is designed as a trailerable day boat with overnight capability, tailored to fit into a
3.1m-high storage shed.
The layout includes a convertible aft dining/bed area, an on-deck galley (cooktop, sink, fridge), bow sunpads and a V-berth double and head below.
Powered by a single 350hp Yamaha outboard, the boat also features solar panels to power onboard systems.
Built using ATL Composites’ DuFLEX panels and epoxy systems, the design prioritises lightweight durability, accurate weight control, and ease of construction – key for towing the rig behind a Toyota HiLux ute.
The hull is nearing completion, with delivery planned for spring for use around the Whitsundays.
