A weekend for the wild ones

The 2025 NZ Fishing, Hunting & 4X4 Expo is gearing up to be bigger and better than last year, returning to Rotorua’s Energy Events Centre from 22–24 August. Last year’s event drew nearly 11,000 attendees, and organisers are promising a jam-packed experience for anyone who loves the outdoors—especially if that love includes boats, fishing, hunting, or all three.

Boats unlock a side of New Zealand that’s wild, remote, and deeply rewarding. For many, that means casting lines and chasing fish. But for some, the journey leads deeper—up braided rivers and across misty estuaries—toward the hunting grounds. Whether you’re chasing venison upriver or drifting silently into duck country, boat-based hunting is a tradition laced with challenge, solitude, and respect.

Plus marine electronics and accessories including from Garmin Marine, Lowrance, Victron Energy, and Yamaha Marine. There’s also a strong lifestyle presence for boaties and fishos with gear, gadgets, clothing, and gourmet treats.
