Daiwa unveils 2026/27 tackle range ahead of AFTA show

Daiwa Australia’s new-season lineup includes electric reels and lever-drag gear with clear crossover for boat-based saltwater fishing.

Daiwa Australia has released its 2026/27 Product Showcase ahead of the AFTA Tackle Show, the industry’s largest annual event, which moves to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre for the first time this year. Trade days run from 20 to 22 August, with Public Day open to recreational anglers on the Saturday.

For boat owners who fish as much as they cruise, several new releases stand out. The 26 Seaborg electric reel (from AU$1,329) targets deepwater work with a compact, power-assist build, while the Saltiga LD 80 lever-drag overhead (AU$1,789) sits at the top of Daiwa’s big-game range. The Tanacom 300J electric reel (AU$999) and a refreshed Saltiga Expedition rod series (from AU$799) round out the offshore-focused releases, alongside more accessible options such as the BG Bluewater rod (from AU$149.99) and BG SW spinning reel (from AU$249).

The showcase also includes a wide run of new Saltiga stickbaits and Bait Junkie softbaits aimed at inshore boat fishing.
