If you’re planning a summer cruise to the Bay of Islands, or heading north past our borders, take note: Bay of Islands Marina in Opua has expanded its refuelling options. The gateway port for offshore arrivals and common departure point is also a favourite stop for Kiwi boaties, and the upgraded fuel dock makes topping up faster and more straightforward.

The new facility now supplies both diesel and petrol. High-flow diesel pumps serve large tanks efficiently, while low-flow diesel and 91 octane petrol cater to smaller vessels. Allied Fuel operates the system, accepting credit, debit, and EFTPOS cards along with Allied and Mobil fuel cards – a welcome convenience for visiting crews.

Longer pontoons, extra cleats, and robust fendering make docking safer and easier, whether you’re on a launch, yacht, or runabout. Combined with quicker turnarounds, the upgrade promises less time waiting at the dock and more time exploring anchorages and beaches around the Bay.
